Time for Some Money-Free Jobs While the Sun Shines!!

I have been wanting to use the tiller attachment to our weed eater for awhile now and so this afternoon we got out to try it.

Kelly said he didn't think it would go through the grass, so I dug down to see if we could sneak up on the grass.  I thought maybe it might break up the grass . . .

Here is the grass I dug out.

Here is the tiller moving from the dug out hole up onto the grass!!  Yay!!  It goes through the grass.  Kelly is strong enough to go pretty deep on the first pass.

Me, on the other hand, can't go as deep so I just skimmed the grass off the top on the first go through . .

And then on the second run pass went deeper.

Here is the little cutie with a big heart!!

It's not real fond of rocks!!  Mmmmm, I think he will be called Richard the Lion-Hearted!!  And here is George watching over our work this afternoon!!  Look how beautiful he is weathering!!

Oh, boy, after I get a quilt off Martha tomorrow I will be back out in the garden!!  I have big plans for Richard!!

The Scary Bathroom . . . .

is getting less scary all the time.

We had to take out the nasty window that would have been behind the shower enclosure.

And then close up the hole on the outside.

Here is the new vanity and the new toilet.  They are both hooked up and working!!  Whoo!!  Whoo!!

Oh, and part of the hardwood floors are installed!!  Man just that small section that I did get put in was such hard work.  The floor in the bathroom is not perfectly flat and that makes for great difficulty in installing the floor.

This is the new shower head!!  Just can't wait!!

And there is electrical in the bedroom next door so I can plug in my hair dryer and use it in the bathroom!!

Next is going to be putting up green board around the tub and build a shelf at the back of the tub for shampoo and all the other bathroom goodies.  And then it will be my turn to tile the tub surround. This is the tile that we purchased ~

I think it will look great with the white bead board and will compliment our beach look!!  And the goal is to have it all done and ready for showers the end of May!!

It is so fun seeing things come together again!!  Until next time!!

Now That the Weather is Getting Better . . .

we are getting ready to replace our last really bad, bullet-ridden window.

So, Kelly, with a little help from me, got out this morning and started tearing off the nasty T-111 siding and we found out that the ship lap underneath is in fabulous condition.

The color is not great - LOL - but once we pressure wash the oxidizing paint off and re-paint, it will be fabulous!!

Kelly was pretty tired at the end of the day!!

I Was Looking at Realtor.com . . .

this evening and found the original pictures of what our home looked like online when I purchased it sight unseen in the spring of 2017.

Not so sure that some of these pictures make the house look better then than it does now, 2 years later!!  Ha! Ha!

A Couple of Projects We did Awhile Back . . .

This is the back porch off the kitchen.  If you enlarge the picture (by clicking on it), you can see that the floor of the room is wayyyyy b...
